No...no fan. But IME, temps inside DO vary a few degrees depending where the thermometer is (I use a Taylor 5924): At the top closer to the "cooling plate" (where the refrigerant coils are) or at the bottom of the unit. So whatever I set it for I look at as an "average temp" inside, not the exact temp in all parts of the interior. I think all of these units are like that...maybe the "really expensive" ones aren't, but I can't say. So I'd put food items toward the top and drinks toward the bottom.
