• The shelves are adjustable and can be placed yo accomodate multiple size items for storage from as small as 3 inches to 2 liter soda.

• They are. I don't know if there are are a variety of slots to insert the shelves because I gifted it, so I'm not completely sure on the adjustable aspect, but it is removable for sure.
