“Can the light be turned on when it’s open instead of it being on all the time or pressing the light button?”

• The instructions state to light your cooler " Press the light button to turn the light on or off. The buzzer sounds when the light is turned on or off." One must press button as instructed. So answer is No. I am very pleased with this cooler thus far.
