• YES THE WHOLE BODY IS METAL. I WOULD GO WITH THE GUNMETAL THOUGH.. IT'S A DENSER METAL AND BLOWS A BIT HARDER THAN THE SILVER FAN.

• Rather thin metal. The base is hollow underneath. Do not confuse this with a heavy antique style fan. The control and tilt adjustment knobs are plastic which was a disappointment.
