This power supply is designed to replace batteries in small devices. I got this one because a friend lost the power supply to a piano keyboard. Laptop computers need more current (amps) than this small device can deliver. I'm sure Gateway would love to sell you a power supply for their laptop or the Geek squad could recommend something generic.
