Each shelf has a lip that it sits on so if you put the shelf on the top lip you can get the full 26.5 in width. The shelves have varying depths, 16.5 in for the top 2 and 13.5 in for the middle. The bottom shelf is 18 in deep but to get the full depth you need to remove the bottom door shelf.
