If the door is open for more than five minutes, the door open alert is activated a
buzzer sounds intermittently.

There is not an alarm that sounds when the door is left open for too long. On the front of the door, there is a tiny little light that is lit when the door is open, that is it. It's honestly not even noticeable unless you're looking for it. There is the main light inside the freezer that stays on even after awhile so even though you may not audibly hear an alarm to know it's open, you can see that it's open because of the light peeking through.
