“1. Is this a smart charger? I'm concerned on trips with overcharging the phone. 2. Will this device generate noise I will hear on my radio. Long trips signals get weak and the chargers I have wipe out the radio when the signals get low in power.”

I've never had a problem with overcharging, and I keep it plugged in all day on road trips. I've also never had problems with interference with the radio, but I don't know how relevant that is because I have satellite radio service.
