It is 14 inches between the legs of the stand of the tv. My cable box is 12 inches wide. So, the tv can’t sit on top of the cable box. The tv can’t stand on its own without the stand with the legs. Hope this helps.

The opening is 13 inches wide, the height is 1 1/4 inch to the bottom of the 1 inch wide sensor. Because of that sensor you can not use the TV without the stand,
