For best video quality hook up your Cable Box to one of the HDMI inputs on the TV.

The new TV is not tuned to the same channel that the cable box output is on. Use the HDMI connectors and change the "input" of the new TV to that input (i.e., "HDMI1"). If the cable box is so old as to not have an HDMI output, request a new one from the cable company
