I don't need this system for a computer I want to use it to play music through my cell phone is it going to sound good if I do that or should I use something else null

This set is 'set up' to be PC speakers but since they are Bluetooth, you can easily use them with your Bluetooth enabled smart phone or tablet. I already use them with my iPad for streaming YouTube and love the sound. The bass is so much better with this set than with a usual wireless single speaker and you get separation of stereo. Now note that right and left speakers ar on one cord and it does not unplug, and they have to plug into the powered bass speaker which is a lot bigger. But they sound really good.

Yes, you can connect your cell phone using the 3.5 mm cable or Bluetooth.
