“I have connected the soundbar to our TV (Toshiba 50" Fire TV), and I cannot find an audio PCM setting anywhere on the TV audio settings. The sound works, but I have to control to volume using the separate soundba remote. Is there something I need to do?”

Try to go Home > Settings > Display and Sounds > Audio Output > Turn TV Speakers OFF and Select Digital Audio Format PCM.
