Depends on what your definition is for "loud". The speakers can handle a lot but if you are planning to project sound a quarter mile away, then probably not. It also depends on your stereo system. What is the max output for that system. They work fine in my backyard. I don't have them loud enough so the neighbors don't complain.

My amplifier is set at level 2 for my home setting and that is plenty loud enough for me   
I don’t know about outdoor party settings and how big ur outdoor area is and how far you wish to reach
