I would have said NO to everything... until I tried it. You CAN pause live TV, and resume, and even go back (rewind or reverse)-- to where you paused it anyway-- I don't know what the time limits are. I doubt you can record the length of an entire show (by pausing), but I don't know. There must be some kind of limited DVR-type of memory on board. Of course you can do all that when you're using a streaming app such as Prime or Netflix. This unit WILL play videos off flash drives, which was one of my priorities.
