“Does this work well for a Chevy Silverado 1500 well? So I have a Chevy SIlverado 1500 extended cab, and I previously had a Motor Trend cassette adapter and now have a different one. My previous one shorted out and only played through the back speakers in the truck. I'm wondering if this one works better and actually plays through all my speakers and has a lesser percentage of shorting out.”

I use mine in a Chevy Suburban. Works fine. You should play a cassette tape to make sure that the problem is not in the truck sound system (plays in all speakers). You should also clean the tape player head and the cassette adapter "head" with a Qtip soaked in isopropyl rubbing alcohol (without glycerin) (can purchase at any Walmart store in the pharmacy section). This will insure a good contact which also could be your problem. Also check your speaker balance and fade settings on your trucks sound system. Good Luck.

Please try again later.If your radio plays normal through all of your speakers, and only plays through your back speakers when you are using a cassette adapter, then most likely all you need to do is get a new adapter. It doesn't hurt to try it out. I've never had a problem returning an item to BestBuy. I use my cassette adapter all the time. If you are using it to play music from your cell phone, the adapter suggests lowering your volume on your cell phone to get the best quality. I lower my volume on my phone to 90%.

When it works, it's awesome. Maybe your stereo won't reject it at all. All it needs is a 3.5mm headphone jack. I plug mine into my cell phone and play YouTube music and magazines that I've downloaded for free. It doesn't hurt to try it out. I've never had a problem returning an item at BestBuy. I use my cassette adapter almost every time I'm in my car.
