I have iPhone 6s plus . My new insignia cassette adapter wont work (negligible with the max volume on both Tape and iPhone but my old insignia adapter used to work perfectly fine for a year. The connection went a little awry now so had to buy a new one. null

I had to lower the volume on my phone and put the volume up on the stereo and it worked

Sounds like a defective cassette, id go back to the customer service desk at any best buy and have them test it for you

Close out you music app on ur phone 
I noticed after waiting a while maybe a mile or so it'll start playing 
Yesterday I plugged in another device worked fine 
It's not the adapter it's ur Device
