“My insignia remote no longer turns on my tv. I put in new batteries. I unplugged and replugged tv. Still nothing but red light on tv showing it is off.”

You may need to go into "System" "Device and Software" and preform a "Reset to Factory" once rebooted be sure it is connected to the internet then go into "System" "Device & Software" "About" and select "Check for Updates" - If you preform an update DO NOT interrupt the process, it will let you know when its complete.
