“Is this hub using the laptop battery even when my laptop is turned off and unplugged? There's a blue light that stays on when my laptop is turned off and unplugged. And I can turn on my USB speaker even though my laptop is turned off. Please help, thanks.”

If nothing is plugged into the hub and the blue light is on it either means that power is left in it after the laptop is shut off or it means that it is drawing a small amount of power.
