If your Dish remote supports Insignia, it’ll work with the code or code search without a problem. If you ensure HD-Cec is on for your TV, and your TV is accurately registered with your Prime account, you should only have to say “Alexa, turn the TV off” and it should turn on or off.

To activate it, go Home > Settings > Display & Sounds > Power On and select Last Input. To pair an Echo device for hands-free control, use the smartphone Alexa app, go Home > Menu > Settings > Video and TV > Fire TV and follow the on-screen instructions.
