Yes the door is switchable. It came hinged on right which was perfect for my situation. I believe it is a fairly simple procedure to remove. a 10 mm socket wrench and a Phillips screwdriver should do it. Once you remove the top hinge cover on the top of the unit, you can see screws holding the top hinge, for removal. You can then prepare the opposite side of the unit. The door pulls upward and can be removed from the lower hinge. There is some hardware that needs to be moved on the lower portion of the unit as well. No re-wiring needed.
