Not necessarily. Most products handle all the provisions the modem/router outputs. Just be sure to use a good grade of an Ethernet cable. Longer cables take longer so send signal. So use what you need, and not have a bunch of extra slack if it’s not necessary so you don’t have any degradation in speed. 1GB is common in this world now.
