My basement is 33x33 and it does my whole basement very well. But I do have a hose connected to my sump pump well to drain into so I don't have to empty the bucket. Before, I had a similar unit on a table next to my slop sink and it drained into that. No, it does not have to be hooked up to the drain hose, it has a bucket.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO HOSE NEEDED . IT DOES HAVE A HOOK UP FOR HOUSE. ITS PLENTY BIG ENOUGH FOR YOUR BASEMENT. I USE MINE IN A 20X30 POLE AND ITS WORKS PERFECT
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have little over 1000 sq ft basement 50 pint is big enough for it... If you want little mobile and had smaller house then mine (2600 sqft )then you can go for 30.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has a tank that it will drain into if a host is not connected but the tank can only hold 6.3 quarts (12.6 pints) so in a day you'd have to empty it several times. I would recommend using a hose for humid months although you might be able to get away with easily just using the tank in dry months.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should go with a 70 pint unit unless you are available to empty the basin often. I empty mine 2 or 3 times a day for an entire basement using the smaller unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This has a built in storage tank that you can empty. If you have a large basement the 70 pint would probably be better. It also has a garden hose fitting to empty into a floor drain.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it does not have to be hooked up to a drain hose as there is a bucket that will collect the water and it holds about 1-3/4 gallons of output before it shuts off to be emptied. I use this 50 pint dehumidifier in my basement and it usually needs to be emptied once each day at a setting of 60% humidity. As for if you would also need a 70 pint, it would depend on the size of your basement, and perhaps the number of rooms; my basement is unfinished with no separate rooms.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My 50 pint dehumidifier fills up every 24 hours, but keeps the humidity at 50 % in my full basement. If you can empty the tank every day you don't need to set up the drain hose.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does NOT need to be hooked to a hose. It is only rated as "room size".
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this unit does not have to be hooked up to a drain hose. It has a catch bucket attached that shuts down the unit when full. The bucket is removed, emptied and replaced. I do not know what pint capacity you should purchase for your size basement. Perhaps someone at Best Buy can assist.
