• I was informed by a geek squad member and another store clerk that you will need a laptop ( I would assume also a computer) with an HDMI or a USB cable connected to your smart tv. The geek squad member also said that it would be a screen mirroring. That is if you want the bigger smart tv picture from your laptop.

• No, this cable cannot be used with your smartphone. You can use a USB Type C cable to HDMI.
