“While charging the led lights were flashing. After a few mins, the led lights goes off. Is the led lights suppose to be flashing during the charging duration or is it supposed to be off? Is this normal charging or is my item defective?”

While it's charging, the lights will stay blinking. When it's fully charged and still plugged in, the lights will remain on, no blinking. If your lights are turning off while charged, try changing the wire you're using to charge the device.
