Yes, the unit has glass shelves up top.

Yes, the shelves are glass. They are fine if you take care not to be to rough on them. Wouldn't recommend if you got alot kids or teens that rough house. I think they would break fairly easy if not taken care of. Think glass table and dropping things on them. Not a good combo!
