The cables are certifed. Look at the back of the package..the white rectangle box that says Made for Ipod, Iphone and Ipad....that's what you see with Apple MFi certfied cables. You can also check on the apple website. For example, the model number for red cable is NS-6A5 on page 4 when you search insignia. https://mfi.apple.com/MFiWeb/getAPS
