• Make sure that your charging cord is MFI certified. Some off brands simply don’t work well. The other possibility is that your cord has broken simply due to wear and tear during normal usage.

• The cable will work, take the cellphone back to Apple and have them test your battery if it passes just replace the cable with this one.

• Do what apple told you. But if u have doubt take a print our of the text from apple and take it to the local store. They might give u a free charger

• The customer service rep is probably right. If you've already rebooted your phone, it is likely the lightning cable you have may be worn. Also possible that the actual wall plug you have the cable plugged into is failing. 1st try a different lightning cable and see if your problem is resolved. If not, consider getting another charging block or plug the phone into a different USB charging station.
