Probably the heat sink covers the bottom and top and includes two long thermal pads. Hope that answers your question.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This hestsink will work with 4tb wd sn850x but you will not be able to use all hardware with out modify thermal or amount of fastners. The thermal is too thick on both sides of ssd and wont allow to use all 4 fasteners. I was still able use thermal provided on both sides of ssd and secure using 2 fasteners and the 1 larger ps5 fastener. I was able to install and get 6504 mb/s read with my ps5 which is faster than internal ps5 ssd.
