• Yes, I agreed. Only mute is the phone since the mute on the device does a poor job.

• I don't have this problem with mine. They easily adjust up and down. I actually run with a friend and we talk the entire time. I have my Beats on playing my running track throughout. Never have a problem hearing the music or my friend.
