Good range but not accurate enough when trying to pinpoint the animal. It gives just a vicinity. I have found the animal but it took some looking and time. I would say that there has to be a better locator to purchase. It would be worth the extra cost for locating.

Of course, this distance is subject to environmental conditions, electromagnetic interference, terrain, etc. You can take a look at all the tech specs for these little jewels of technology over on the Apple site at: https://www.apple.com/airtag/ I love mine. I am constantly losing my keys, and they have come in handy more than a few times since I purchased them. It is hands down the best $30 I have spent in a while!!
