Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As always, it depends. This microphone has a TRRS jack that works with cell phones and is designed to be "powered" by a very low current. In other words, it isn't designed to be highly sensitive, it doesn't pick up quite noises or distant sounds. However, like any quality lavaliere, it is well calibrated for recording the human voice. So, the questions are, "What kind of VO are you recording?" and "What are you recording with?" The quality here is adequate for a run and gun news broadcaster or live streaming, but this isn't good enough for capturing voice acting, commercial radio, or any studio type production. Also the phone or device you're using it with is going to have a significant impact on it's responsiveness. A well reviewed USB or thunderbolt microphone designed for the specific hardware you already own, preferably including adequate recording software, may serve you better. On this site I'd recommend searching "podcasting"
