I would say yes. I've personally put a few drops of dish washing soap in a kitchen sink with water and kind of washed and lightly scrubbed, rinsed and set out to drip dry for years with no problems.

I would suggest a small proportion of liquid laundry to water, or even dish soap... in a low soap content since rinsing the rubber backed fabric will be difficult, and wringing it will destroy the back or fray the edges. since they are unfinished.
