My Samsung TV sees it the bluetooth and pairs with it. I get a short blip of sound and then nothing. Still show it as paired Any suggestions other than wired connection?

Yes. You will either need to make sure your tv has Bluetooth or a 3.5mm audio plugin. However you may want to buy a soudbar as this speaker runs on an internal battery vs acdc plugin.

I tried to pair this with Samsung bluetooth enabled TV and it did NOT work. It works ok with bluetooth enabled smartphone/tablet though.

If your TV has Bluetooth capability and can pair with the speaker then yes. If not, then it can be connected to the TV's earphone jack with a cable that you can purchase at BB. The speaker has a volume control so that you will not have to acquire an in-line volume come control.
