The speaker has a USB Type-A plug, and comes with a USB power adapter that the speaker's Type-A plug can plug into for power. You can also plug the speaker into a USB 3.0 port on your computer and the computer will power the speaker, thus eliminating the need for an extra 110 V outlet. The included USB power adapter is rated at 1.0 A output, which a USB 3.0 port will supply just fine.
