It's small about 7"×4 or 5. Fits nice on my desk. Only problem I have is I get no signal in my office maybe cause I'm on the ground floor of a 4 story building

It's a little bigger than 8x5 and only about 2.5 inches thick -- great size! I'm not sure what you mean by your adapter question. You can either use batteries or plug it into the wall with the power cord that comes with the radio. The power cord is two-pronged and is called an "AC Adapter" on the web site.
