“I just purchased the Insignia 90W Universal Laptop charger because I forgot my Dell charger at the airport. Will it power up my laptop (DELL Latitude E6440) even when the battery is completely drained? Should I remove the battery?”

I have a DELL mini and it hadn't been charged in at least a year and it came on right away when plug in, so I would say yes.

This adapter did power my girlfriend's laptop with the battery installed, but did not charge the battery.

Yes it will. It comes with several different connectors.

Yes it will power up your laptop..Not necessary to remove batteries. I felt like it just moved in and took over. Very smooth change.

With one of the adapter plugs it charged my battery just fine.
