“Does this mic work for windows 7? I have connected it with the USB cord and it automatically downloaded the software. After this however, even with the Insignia as my default input mic, it did not indicate nor produce any sound. Are there any bug fixes?”

I am using this Insignia USB mike on my Windows 7 computer and it works great for voice. It is directional so it should work with any source of sound directly in front. But I have no experience with picking up the full frequency range of a musical instrument. The installation instructions explain how to go into Control Panel and use "Recording" to set it up. There is no download associated with this mike.
