“This morning it shows the temp (as well as the time), and temp won't go off (didn't ask for temp / it just appeared this morning). Have reinstalled twice. Just want clock (like it was before). Google Home says firmware is 318.”

It has to be a firmware update. When I first bought mine a couple years ago it showed it every now and then. I tried to figure out why not all the time. Gave up on that and accepted it with just clock display. Then like a week or so ago the temp came on again and is staying on. I like it.
