“Trying to use my Insignia Voice portable speaker to make phone calls - it tells me "Sorry, I can't make calls yet." Google Support says Cast firmware v1.28.99351 is needed but the device has v1.27.97091. It is connected to Wi-Fi so why is it not updated?”

After contacting Google Chat and looking through the manual, https://files.bbystatic.com/N10Fg21KCfxbEWl3jUtoAw%3D%3D/75951389-317a-4ed9-b77b-c7e9ed884322.pdf, page #7 I found: "Can this speaker make phone calls? No. However, you can use a third party communicator, such as IFTTT, to prompt a trigger to have your Google Assistant dial someone with a phone when the trigger is prompted. This method of calling is intended for emergencies only"

The unit does have built in already the ability to call certain stores for ordering, such as Target or Dominoes Pizza. I have setup a Google Phone Number and have made calls from my assistant.
