I know the device has sensors on the top that will lower the sound temporarily if you wave your hand over it. Not sure if something is setting yours off or if your sensors are defective.

Thank you for purchasing our Insignia Voice Smart Bluetooth Speaker. What is happening here is the Speaker has proximity detection (by default ON) that reduces volume (and visually shows the 20 volume reduction) automatically.

This feature will be updated shortly to be disabled for music (manually enabled by user) and only will function for alarm snooze on our next automatic software update.
