“This speaker has older version of software than google home (I found this out after speaking with Google Support) Why is this? Insignia support said this would not happen.”

You cannot place phone calls with the Insignia speaker like you can with a google home. I have both and I can say "call Dan" on the Google home and it will place a phone call. When I try the same on the Insignia, it says "I can't do that yet". I really miss that feature. Otherwise the Insignia works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have both the Insignia speaker and the google home speaker and regardless of the software have seen no difference in how each of them work. Both are good products and produce relatively the same sound quality. In using the google assistant, both have operated the same and very well. I would recommend both of them as they have both been excellent.
