• Hi Matt, Thank you very much for purchasing our Insignia Voice Smart Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Google Assistant built in. To address your inquiries about the alarm I want you to know that this unit has battery that will keep the speaker for 5 hours so if there is power loss or Wifi loss will still allow the alarm to trigger. If the Wi-Fi in the environment is poor alarm synchronization between device and cloud may take up to 1 min but typically the server syncs the alarm in the first couple of seconds. • I, too, cannot get the alarm to work if there is a power outage. This is a problem since this unit is what I use for an alarm clock.

• I have not been able to get the alarm to work when on battery but it works fine when plugged into the wall socket.
