Yes, you can't avoid all the extra functions. I agree it would be nice to just use the one light without having to go through them all. Isn't the white light before the red green in the sequence? Haven't used mine for a bit.

Yes. It always starts with a bright white light, then dim rings of red light, then flashing dim rings of red light, and finally a dim green light. If you only want to use the white light, it is the first to come on when the button is pressed, but you will have to cycle through the red and green functions to turn the headlamp to the OFF position. Also, the white light is very bright!

Yes, the white is the first light then to turn it off you have to cycle through the rest, That is the only thing I do not like about the light. Other then that, this light is AWESOME. I use it at least 3-4 time a week if not more, ove it.
