With proper adapters, in theory, the Intel 660p should slot into the Mac Pro. But, the real issue will be the interface speeds. These drives are too fast for your system. The I/O difference will cause errors and can overheat your system if it cannot correct the errors that are causing the heating issue. But, like all Apple Devices, please check with the Apple Genius'. Bios might not be able to upload certain drivers.
