If I may be so bold, if so gle core performance and price are your concerns AND number of cores aren't, consider an i5. Long and short is I have dual nVidia Titans on military motherboards with aviation engineering grade hardware, and it's never seen over 20% total capacity. (23% exactly). It scans 1090213 million files off SSD in approximately 2 seconds s during virus scans.thats a million files, yes

The i9 is only slightly better at single threaded performance than the i7. If you were overclocking, there's a good chance the i9 is better binned, i.e., it will overclock better. But at stock settings the differences in single threaded performance aren't going to be worth the price difference. You'll be better off putting that money elsewhere.

Most benchmarks show that the i7 and i9 are pretty much neck and neck when it comes to handling single core to multi core tasks. Most people are actually perfectly satisfied with the i5 performance for gaming, but I think this was the happy medium.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All the k series are excellent your question is irrelevant. It's a personal choice between the two you mention the 12700k is a great cpu however the 12900k is a bit higher grade cpu price wise I went with the 12700k. I did this because I already owned Corsair H2O cooler.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.IMO, it packs enough performance for any everyday tasks and rendering tasks at a cheaper cost than 12900K. Unless you need more cores, this 12700K is valued at better price with about 90% performance of 12900k. Highly recommended.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m not PC savvy, but I can’t justify $600+ (unless of course you can afford it). I run Microsoft flight simulator with no lags, on wifi, and it does not exceed 80 deg C. All 24 threads work as intended and for $340 which I got it at, it is the best CPU I’ve even purchased. Also can be fully Overclocked from 3.6Hz to 5.0Hz if that helps.
