This will take play music in various formats on USB. MP3, AIFF, Wave etc.

Hello, 
No the Sport Xl's USB ports are for charging phones. It sounds like you may be looking for something more along the lines of a Power Glow 300. Which is a battery powered version of our PA line. Note that any of our PAs will allow you to play properly formatted USB flash drives, but most are not battery powered.
