With a very smart and determined dog especially a breed like a Belgian Malinois there’s always some uncertainty. Dogs vary a lot in persistence and problem-solving, so no deterrent is 100% guaranteed. Some dogs encounter a barrier once and give up; others experiment until they defeat it.
