• Mouse receiver? Yep. I have web cams, USB microphones, USB to HDMI display adapters and more connected to this thing. Works every time, so far.

• Yes, it will work. I have the 5 plug hub, am using all 5 ports and everything works - wireless mouse, wireless keyboard, external hard drive, wireless headset and a printer. Awesome addition to my home office setup. Sure beats a docking station.
