Yes I’ve done it and it worked fine.

Make sure your monitor or a display is on the correct input source. This Multi Adapter is a Plug n Play device and uses your computer's hardware. Please refer to the manufacturer of your hardware for more information on your device. Connect a Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the adapter and connect the other end to a modem or router.
