My adapter gets EXTREMELY hot when just plugged into HDMI to a single monitor. Is this normal? I am afraid it might be hurting my laptop. Do all usb c adapters get this hot (too hot to hold for more than a second). Should I invest in another one? null

I was wondering the same thing as mine also get really hot. I plugged it in to my laptop for about 5 mins and it got to the point where I almost couldn’t hold it.

However, if it is becoming too hot to the point where it is harming you, I recommend exchanging the j5create device. Same issue with a quirk.
At one office it does not heat up much at all; but, at my other office it gets to 99.7 degrees, I'm call this hot.  
     The only difference I'm aware of is the wall jack / port.  What could be the issue with the wall jack/port at the office that causes my ethernet to USB-C converter to heat up so?

I have had one for 1 month constantly plugged to USB C drive and accommodating headphones, and 2 USB plug ins, it does not get hot.
